Seriously, why do Senators get to enjoy a long holiday weekend, but all of US Voters have to work, scrimp, and worry about whether our health insurance, home care, home nursing, kid's special ed physical therapy is going to get shut off next week?

 

My first thought today (Wednesday) was: "What if there was a brave ethical Senator who got on the Senate Floor NOW, Today, tomorrow, and if needed, Friday to make a motion to at least table the TrumpCare bill for 90-180 days, send it back to committee for public open hearings and comments like what is being done on NetNeutrality?

 

March 21, 2010, the GOP was furious that Democrats "rushed" the HCRA through to a vote, some of them voting without even having had time to READ it.

 

I wanted to ask what's left of the MAGA crowd: "Why has the GOP done EXACTLY the same thing this year?  This isn't the kind of change you all elected Trump for, is it?"

 

About the Democrats and BernieBots, I was even more irate.  I wanted to shout at them

"You are NO BETTER. You COULD have put together a decent bill to correct the biggest problems with HCRA so voters could have had a finished, well written, professional alternative uploaded and available for us all to read by February 14th.

 

Instead, you wasted our time coddling Hillary instead of getting her under oath on RussiaGate to prove you weren't just mindless fan club members of Clinton 1%ers and held BernieCoventions just as stupid and mindless as TrumpRallies."

 

And, here we are, 23+ million humans in danger of losing health insurance, millions of #elderly and #spoonies in danger of losing our homecare, millions of healthcare jobs in danger of being cut, and all of us #Americans struggling with that plus:

 

1) over 30% higher food prices has made Friday "Meat Day"

 

2) Carter's Peanut Butter subsidies log since cut so no longer a staple on food pantry shelves.

 

3) Bush's "1000 points of light" donors now using Just In Time Inventory to sell at the maximum profit to everyone not wealthy enough to be an Amazon Prime super buyer, and NOT donating unsold food to pantries. Then using the profit for stock buyback, NOT donations.

 

4) How many states with #poisoned drinking water? Even here in Merrimack, New Hampshire safe drinking water is not just there at te kitchen sink.

 

5) Bottled water companies taking HOW MUCH water and making us already overburdened Americans BUY it at HUGE markups?

 

I know many Americans, unlike the US Senate, are NOT getting a 4 day holiday weekend this month. They are busy working, often part-time, low wage, or "gig economy" jobs. They are trying to raise kids, take care of aging parents, here in NH often also caring for or grieving family and friends either addicted or dead from addiction to heroin and other drugs.

 

Yes, the Brownie Vest and the Marching Band Uniform will somehow get ironed in time to carpool to the parade with the family and friends that can no longer afford to own a car. But, this year will be different because of the act this year, especially due to Majority Leader Senator Mitch, we are all spending the weekend hanging in suspense, all worrying, all waiting. 

 

Folks, This is wrong. It is up to us to fix the underlying problem.

There are local, state, Congressional elections in November.

Vote for Third Party or Independent Candidates.

 

We know we will be like Senator Angus King, a minority. But at least with us Greens, you will know we didn't take one penny of corporate or special interest money, and we do listen to all sides. There are also the Yellows, Libertarians, and in some states other parties.

 

If we have a 4 or 5 color Congress, Representatives, and Senators will have to relearn the art of creating cooperative win-win compromise and our entire country will benefit.

 

That, a Congress and White House that knows how to work professionally, how to cooperate, and how to create the best possible Win-Win solutions to our problems is something I believe every American supports and deserves.

 

Happy Birthday, these United States Of America, I love you, my country and I care about all who bear the name American.
